Creative Tables
Functional surfaces that serve as conversation pieces. From dining tables to coffee tables, each piece is a work of art.
The Craft Behind Artisan Tables
A table anchors a room. It is the surface where meals are shared, work is done, and objects are displayed — and in a home that values design, it is often the single piece that defines the space. The tables in this collection are built by artisans who treat each slab, joint, and finish as an opportunity to reveal something about the material itself. Live edge walnut preserves the tree's original contour. Hand-forged steel bases carry the hammer marks of the blacksmith who shaped them. Resin inlays fill natural voids with translucent color that catches light differently at every hour.
Thomas Oak of Wood Artisan Co. selects his timber from trees that have fallen naturally or been removed for safety — never harvested for furniture alone. Each slab is kiln-dried for six to eight weeks before any work begins, reducing moisture content to between 6% and 8% to prevent warping across decades of use. James Rivera pairs reclaimed wood tops with forged steel bases, creating pieces where industrial strength meets organic warmth.
Choosing the Right Table for Your Space
Dining tables should allow 24 inches of width per place setting and 36 inches of clearance from wall to chair back when seated. For live edge pieces, the natural variation in width means some seats will be wider than others — this is part of the character. Coffee tables work best at 16 to 18 inches high, roughly level with your sofa cushions. Console tables for entryways should be narrow enough (12 to 15 inches deep) to avoid blocking foot traffic while providing a surface for keys, mail, and a statement lamp.
All tables include white-glove delivery for pieces over 100 pounds. Our artisans recommend maintaining wood surfaces with natural oil treatments every 6 to 12 months, depending on use intensity and climate humidity.
